Jenny from Cats Pyjamas was a delightful lady to deal with. She is obviously a great cat lover. The service she provided for my three cats was excellent. She came a few days before we left on our break and introduced herself to our cats. They were quite comfortable with her from the very start. ... Read more

Hello, I employed Cats Pyjamas pet sitting and they were really good, I felt comfortable to leave my animals in the care of Jenny and she kept in contact regularly re how they were and what had been happening. Would definately use her again. Thanks!

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
I work for myself so when you meet me you are meeting the person who will be looking after your precious fur babies. I love animals and treat all of my furry clients as if they were my own.
-
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I have had cats all of my life and currently have 3 of my own, ranging in age from 5 to 13 years old.
I have volunteered as a foster carer for the RSPCA and fostered "catchoo" (cat flu positive) cats
I have been looking after pets professionally since July 2012 -
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
I have an affinity for felines :-) though I'm happy to look after most domestic pets.
-
How do you normally charge for your service?
I charge per visit. A standard visit includes 15 min of dedicated 1 on 1 time with your pet, in addition to the normal chores of feeding, toileting etc
I charge extra for plant watering due to the extra time involved
-
What makes your pricing competitive?
I know myself that the cost ads up when you are away over a few days so I like to try and keep my prices reasonable. I will only increase my prices to cover increased costs in delivery of the service, eg sustained petrol price increases.
-
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Location?
How many animals will I be looking after?
Number of visits required per day?
Does the animal require medications at a set time per day? (eg insulin)
Do you need plants watered? -
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
I am insured for Public Liability
-
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I understand how important your fur-babies are to you (mine are the same to me) so I want to make sure they are lovingly and reliably looked after.
As I am the owner operator of the business if you meet with me you know I will be the one who will be looking after your pets.
-
What do you like most about your job?
The thing I love the most about my job is bringing comfort to my furry charges and peace of mind to their owners.
I also love finding my way around Brisbane and discovering places I haven't been to before
-
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I received a redundancy in 2012 and decided I didn't want to keep doing office work.
My dream had always been to have a really luxurious boarding facility but then I thought “the luxury would be if the animals could be cared for in their own homes.” This was how the Cats’ Pyjamas was born.
-
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
What is the price? - the price varies depending on the number of pets and number of visits but it starts at $27 per visit
Do you stay at my home? - Unfortunately not. I have 3 cats of my own so I can't housesit. I only make a visit
Do you go to my suburb? - I basically cover an area 30 mins from Fitzgibbon in non peak hour.
Can you give medications? - Yes I can -
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
Is the person you are meeting the person who will actually look after my pet?
Will you provide me with updates on my pets?
Do you have a police check?
Do you have liability insurance? -
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
This is the first time we have used a paid Pet Minding Service. We needed someone reliable as one of our three cats needs injections twice a day at regular times. Along with all the usual tasks, Jenny handled the injections without problems – this gave us genuine peace of mind.
We found Jenny extremely professional and very friendly. She also provided us with additional tips of some better kitty litter and grooming products that she’s come across – things that will make our lives easier (and our cats happier!).
Thank you, Jenny. I would recommend your service to other pet owners.
