Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I have all my insurances in place and up to date.  My professional training hours are kept on going.  I am a member of several orgainsations and therfore fully qualified and compliant.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always worked in the office.  Bookkeeping, Assistant Accountant, Clerical, Financial Para Planner and so on.   I found that Bookkeeping-Accounting, tax laws etc interested me and therefore started my own business.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  One great one is that with new customers I am told that their work is all up to date and is all correct.  Then when I start going through their files it seems that this is not the case and instead being a quick job it becomes a major one to correct and relodge BAS's etc.

What do you like most about your job?

My job is challenging.  Everyday is different especially when I get new clients.  They are so fare behind and their bookwork is very much out of control.  I enjoy fixing the mistakes and making sure everything is up to date and kept up to date.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

There are many bookkeepers out there however they are not all qualified nor experienced enough to do a good job.  Clients should ask for verbal references from Accountants that have access to their client's MYOB or Quickbooks files.

They want to know how many year experience I have had.  What can I for them.  I can do everything including payroll, compliance issues, BAS & IAS lodgements, reconciliations and so on....

I know what i am doing and have had many years of experience in my position.  I know that customer satisfaction and loyalty is the most important thing in my business.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I should be hired because I know that I am very confident and particular in what I do.  My referrals are from the Accountants and my clients.  I have kept clients since I started on my own.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Clients can save money by having all of their paper work in order, filed in folders. Have all bank statements ready for me to check and reconcile. Have their accounting package up to date especially if they have employees and they want me to use their software.

What makes your pricing competitive?

I charge an hourly fee however I may not be the cheapest nor the dearest.  In between.  I know that I am worth this and much more as my clients are always saying this to me.  I am not just a bookkeeper, I pride my self in what I do and know that I do it very well.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Normally by the hour.  A flat rate per job or per month if its on going.  Depends on the client and the work that is required to be done.  Rates can be negotiated.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I do everything to do within the office & compliance.  Wages,  payroll, super lodgements, invoicing, set up chart of accounts, training and ongoing support in relation to the business and bookkeeping matters.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Experience since 1975.  Fellow member of Association of Taxation & Management Accountants ATMA, Accountants Professional Partner with MYOB.  Have been studying and keeping my professional training hours up to date for my ATMA & BAS Agent requirements.
