• What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

  Ensure your accountant is a member of a professional body, like the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Your tax agent needs to be registered. You can confirm registration at the Tax Practitioners Board website, or look for their logo on your accountants communications.

• Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

  It shouldn't matter which accountant prepares your tax return for you, or does your financial statements. We follow a set of rules and have to apply the tax law correctly. However, time and again, I find mistakes in my new client's prior year returns. Fortunately, I can usually correct the errors and get an extra refund for them from their prior year return, as well as this year's.
