How did you decide to get into your line of work?

When I was 8 years old I got an instagram (cube like)camera given to me from mum mum, and from that moment I was hooked, but it wasn't until I got into a photography course in Stockholm I really thought that this is it! After the course I got into James Cook University, QLD to study photography and a husband and 2 boys later I now live on the Sunshine Coast, QLD.

What do you like most about your job?

I just love the flexibility of it and the wonderful people you meet and new places you visit. Every job is also different so there is a positive challenge there every time, which makes you grow as a person.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

The most common question is how much do you cost and the reason i have started to give customers ane off price with no hidden fees. Another very important question is ( portraits and designers):  - Can we have the photographs on a disc in high resolution so we can print them out our selves? The answer is YES! Print them out as much as you want. (I do not either watermark them.)

I try to put my self into the customers shoes. If I was to ask a photographer to do a job I would like him/her to be; - Good at what they are doing. - Punctual - Friendly - Fast - Have an eye for detail . - Easy to get along with and good to deal with people and to make them relaxed in front of the camera.. All of this I really do believe I am:)

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I am a very easy going person who has had a 10 years of experienced in the industry. I have photographed everything from big events such as the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, fashion events, weddings, actors to family and children. This experience has made me fast, an eye for details and always being a step ahead so I can deliver the job to the fullest satisfaction.  Before I moved to Australia from Sweden 15 years ago I did a lot of acting, which has helped me realizing how it is to be "in front" of the camera as well.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

- What kind of photography do you need?, Portrait, product, family, event, fashion photography? - Where are you located? - When do you need it? - Why do you want it? ( Always good to know if it is for a special one, product photos for your brand etc) - What is you budget? - What are your contact details - Where would you like me to photograph? At your place?, a special location? ( Smaller product photography I can do my studio space)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Know exactly what clothes you will ware, who will be photographed, the location of the photo shoot, if you need any accessories etc. All of this will not only save you money but also will give you good direction and make the photo shoot more efficient.

What makes your pricing competitive?

For portrait photography and product photographs for designers and artist I offer one flat fee with no add on price. I do not try to sell them anything more than agreed on so no stress for the client.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

For family portrait photography,Yennyphoto has a flat fee of $300 AUD. 1-2 hours with the client This includes my traveling time to the location (on the Sunshine Coast), the photography and all photographs taken given to the client on an USB.  All photographs will be given to the Client a couple of days later after I have renamed, colour corrected, resized, and backed them up. (Usually takes me an extra 2 hours) The client get to keep the photos and can print them out as much as they want.,  For designers and artist who wants to have their products photographed I also do this for a flat fee of $300 for 1-2 hours. Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

Yes I love to photograph people and portraiture is one of my specialties. I also photograph social functions and commercial jobs such as fashion and product photography.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Although I do have a Bachelor of photography with Honors, the most important skill I have is being easy going and a good sense of humor! I have also worked as a professional photographer for 10 years.
