Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
Experience.. When you need an installation in your home or office, you rely on the installer to know what they are doing. An inexperienced installer could leave you with damage to your home or office and sometimes even take shortcuts because they don't have the required skills.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
16 years experience within the electrical, data and security industry. But this isn't what makes me the right person for the job. What makes me the right person is that my customers don't get apprentices sent out to do the work, they get me, a professional well spoken and friendly tradesman.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
My passion is security. I have traveled overseas many times to security exhibitions to source products and knowledge for my customers.
How do you normally charge for your service?
I like to set a price for the job and stick to it. This way the customer is never hit with extra costs and knows exactly what the whole job will cost from the beginning.
What makes your pricing competitive?
I source many of the products I install myself and for that reason my customers get the best prices possible. I know the industry inside out and can get products at much lower prices than most others.
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?
Yes, I can offer honesty, professionalism, promptness and friendly service :)
My prices are very fair and transparent across all the platforms I advertise on, I believe this is the best way for both the customer and myself.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
1/ Do some research about the product or installation you require.
2/ Consider other work you require before the job starts as it will cost less if I'm already there.
3/ Set a budget.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
The work they need completed and there budget. There is no point quoting for a $10,000 CCTV system if the customer doesn't want to spend more than $1,000. Once I know the needs of the customer and their budget, I will do my best to design an installation within their budget.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
Yes I have $10M public liability and provide minimum 2 years warranty for products I install and lifetime warranty on my wiring and installation.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
Transparency and character. I relate to my customers, I explain every detail of the job to you before proceeding. During the installation I will always make sure that you know what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
Can you do it any cheaper is a common one. The answer is yes, but you will need to sacrifice the number of products or the quality of them as I always give the best price for labour and the service I provide.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
How long have you been in the industry?
Which products would you recommend and why?
Will there be any additional costs?
When can you start?
What do you like most about your job?
Working at different locations and meeting new people is the first thing. With the security industry you need to always be up to date with current products and prices. I really enjoy testing new products and offering them to my customers.
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
During my electrical apprenticeship I had someone ask me if I was an electrician while I was doing some electrical work in a warehouse, I replied yes and asked why. His office was next door and wanted me to do a small electrical job for him, he's been my mentor and a very close mate ever since.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
My childhood dream of working for NASA didn't end up happening :)
I've always had a passion for electronics and business, I combined the two and ended up with Zotech Data & Security!
