Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I do have public liability insurance.  In regards to security I offer a 12 month product guarantee. I always encourage customers to call me if there are any other problems or queries they may have in relation to my job.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

In regards to security I just happen to start working in the industry and have stayed in it for a very long time. In reference to tiling/renovations I've always been a very handyman and have always enjoyed that type if work. I would eventually like to get into renovations on a more full time basis and security work part time.

Two years ago I happen to get a shop fit out job to do. To see the before and after results was very rewarding. Also to see the thrill and appreciation in the customers was very rewarding too.

Meeting new people and being able to offer my expertise. It's also very rewarding seeing the appreciation a customer has for thee work you have done for them. I enjoy the variety if work and skills I have too.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

They need to explain to the professional exactly what they expect from the job. Based on the professionals answer you do get an idea whether they would be suitable for that particular job/project.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

In reference to security they would ask how many sensors they would need in their home. I would tell them that it would depend on the size of their home as well as the set out. Things like that I would need to have a look at the job to be able to offer a true answer/opinion. In reference to renovation/tiling or handyman work each job is different and different information would be required.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I treat my customers the same way I would expect to be treated. There is nothing worse than having a tradie/business make all these promises and don't even turn up to the job on time or at all. I understand that the customers time is just as valuable as my time.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Because I'm very honest and take pride in my work. I treat each job  I do as though I was working and my own place. I offer quality work at a reasonable price. I don't believe in taking short cuts!

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

In regards to security I need to know type of residence ie. business or private, the type of building eg. Brick with tile roof etc. If there is ceiling access, single storey/double storey etc. In regards to renovations I need to know size if room and what work they need done ie. demolishing, tiling, painting etc..

What makes your pricing competitive?

I'm not working to get rich quick. I understand that the person paying for the product/service works just as hard for their money as I do for mine. Therefore I offer my services at a fair and reasonable price.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

customers can pay by Bank transfer, cheque or cash. I provide a receipt for my work. Payment is to be paid on day of completion. Depending on how big the job is a deposit may also be required.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in Bosch products and also install CCTV cameras.  I also am able to install intercoms.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

In regards to security I have approx 17 years experience in the industry and have all my relevant licenses. In regards to the other services I have always been a handyman and have many years of unpaid experience but only approx 5 years of paid experience.
