Yes I am insured up to 10 million. All work comes with an installation warranty and parts are warranted as per the manufacturers warranty period.

No that is not necessary. I do not discriminate against those who have no been vaccinated. For your reference I am.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Coming out of High School I was wanting to be a carpenter. However a plumbing apprenticeship came up and I went for it. After that I decided to expand into a new trade which was roofing. I have recently acquired more qualifications too expand my skills set.

I don't have a story. I just enjoy when a customer is so thankful for me to complete the job. There have been many instances where I have had customers that were caught in a tough financial position and I have done everything I can to make the price as low as possible. People are always thankful for that.

I enjoy the process of fixing something. Its the most satisfying thing about the job. Turning something broken and defectives into a viable piece of the home/property.

I encourage people to seek companies that offer free quotes for one. Make sure you are getting more than one quotation as well. To be honest with you an honest tradesmen just wants to get in and fix the issue you need fixed. Don't fall for the ones who come in for one issues and spend half the time finding another 10 things wrong with your place.

Mainly about the quality of materials or how long something may last. The materials I source are always by default of the best quality. I can of course make your quote cheaper but in turn it means the quality of the material is going to be worse and have less of a life spawn. So I explain that you get what you pay for.

By no means do I advertise as the best of my trade. However, when I do a job I do it right. In the end it doesn't help me in any way doing a poor job or being untrustworthy. I rely on people loving my work and passing my name on to family and friends. Its the backbone of my business. So you can trust me to do the best job I can possibly perform.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I come from working with companies for several years and I can see the amount I charge compared to them is a significant amount. Now charging less doesn't mean a lower standard of work. I just don't have all the expenses that of a large company do. I make my work as cost effective as I can manage.

Size of the job. Expected time it will take. Total cost of materials. How far away the job is. Will I need a hand on the job? There are a few angles to consider.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

I try to provide 3 options. For example, you want a new toilet. I will show you 3 different styles, cheapest to most expensive, so you may weigh your options. If there are any seniors living in the home then you are automatically able to get yourself a 10% discount. And if possible to quote remotely they will save money as I will not have to compensate for the fuel to go and quote the job.

I'm the little guy. I don't have to charge you a base amount to break even like a large company. I get in and get out.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Generally I figure out the cost of material and then add expected labour hours on top. Labour isn't calculated on an hourly rate but by how difficult and strenuous a job is. For example, working on a roof will be more expensive than working on the ground. Having to dig a trench all day will be more expensive than having to pressure clean your driveway.

My main trade is plumbing and roofing. However, I have branched into other sectors and have people who I work closely with to carry out other trades.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

5 years in the trades so far. I've spent about 5 years learning all the Australian Standards at TAFE. I've been taught and guided by countless different people in all aspects of the trades I specialise in. I always have someone to turn to in crisis. So if your home has something I've never seen before, I know someone with over 20 years in whatever trade that can help.
