In addition, as an experienced Certified Practicing Accountant with a public practicing certificate, our quality of work is audited by CPA Australia on a four-yearly basis to ensure top quality of service.

We also specialize in tax audit, and last year, we assisted one client in the logistic business with a large scale tax audit. We helped the business to reduce the shortfall tax penalty to zero. The client got audited due to an overstatement of the business expense in the prior-year tax return.

I like my job because an accountant should connect to the individual and cater to their needs. The accountant should not be just the bean counter but should contribute to the business by adding value to the underlining business performance.

The different structures would often suit business growth at the various business stages.  However, ideally, you want to limit the potential downside risk by using the correct business structure. Normally, I would advise against using the partnership as a structure, as it has unlimited joint liability when things go wrong.

Understand precisely the scope of your work; hence you do not get charged unnecessarily for the work you do not need. Also, it is important to understand that sometimes it is important to receive an engagement letter to you to be reviewed and signed off, as it will contain terms and conditions and a confidentiality clause to protect your best interest.
