How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Ive always been artistic and had a good eye for detail & sales. I am interested in marketing and advertising, and events and have always been a bit of an ideas man... It was natural progression into Graphic Design and I enjoy supporting business in development and seeing local business win.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

We have a great client who bravely started a market event business last year, with little start up capital but a passion and a vision to make something great happen, we met often and discussed ideas and possibilities and slowly built a brand and a plan. With the logo, branding and website in place and some investment in facebook advertsing and a big amount of money into radio, the business started and the events began to happen...one after the other the result was not quite as hoped but she pushed on regardless - not enough people in attendance and not quite covering the cost of the radio advertising. This was gradually taking its toll and spirits were low, but to my clients credit she pushed on and continued, we regrouped and retargeted the advertising and branding and she made the decision to remove radio ads and to spend more money on facebook promotions which we regularly update, and approximately 9 months into the process things have started to turn around, she now operates in 3 venues every term and is getting fantastic crowds, and has opened a second business in market events with a different theme that is about to start and has had a huge amount of interest. I am inspired by her guts and bravery to give it a go and am honoured to have been able to support and encourage along the way. I am so pleased to be witnessing the success and am reminded that giving up when times are tough in business is not always the answer, regroup and do something different seems to be the better option. Be encouraged in you are in business, perhaps a little tweak or a refresh in your approach is just what you need, think outside the square!

What do you like most about your job?

I love the people I get to meet and the scope of the work, from dance schools to earth moving & wine tours as well as working for some national companies with in house design. I like being able to offer solutions for business that actually makes a difference, I enjoy seeing local businesses grow and develop.

There are designers & there are designers. Its important you find a repoire with your chosen designer, the best way is to chat with us, look at some designs and websites that we have completed and talk through your style and requirements with us as we design to your needs and every client is different. It's important you can trust us and feel comfortable and confident in the service we provide. We have some clients who want to come in and talk over possibilities and solutions and others we've never spoken to but are happy to email back and forth as their time permits.  You can get budget bargain logo designs and web sites elsewhere but our approach is one of quality and strong design and function, we allocate most logo designs around 10 hours of concept time to explore and unpack the opportunities available to you and to give you choice and to really create something special. However if required we can work to your budget and tailor our approach to suit your needs and offer solutions. Come and have a chat to us.

If the scope changes as we work through the project any extra costs will be discussed along the way before we proceed.  Do you do Printing? Yes - all types in bulk - Flyers, Business Cards, Signage, Vehicle Signage, Shop Signage, Banners & Promotional Products - Mus, drink bottles, T-Shirts, Bags, Pens, Tatoos etc...we can source whatever you require!  Do you do Web Sites? Yes, we collaborate with a few highly skilled developers to give you a quality, customised, high end, beautifully designed website to suit your needs and budget. We also offer domain & website hosting as required.

As we are a small firm and I am the primary freelance designer - our approach is more relational and most of our business is by referral and word of mouth, we pride ourselves on the way we walk the journey with our clients in the growth of their businesses, we are trustworthy and honest in the way we approach business. We are great at brain storming with our clients and are happy to be a sounding board, this seems to be the way we build trust and reliability. We genuinely care for our clients and the success of their businesses after all its our branding on your signage and it's in our best interest to do our very best work for you. Even when there are challenges along the way we make the effort to be accessible to our clients and work hard to communicate in a timely manner and to keep things moving along.

- Do you need a new logo & branding, a logo/branding makeover or to use your existing branding in the job you are enquiring about? - Is it just basic business printing needs - business cards, flyers, signage etc or do you require brand development? - What does your branding & logo need to be able to do? Side of a building? Web site? Packaging?  - What is the market you are targeting?  - By what means will you be  advertising (word of mouth, social media, web site, letterbox drop/flyers, billboard etc...) - Have you considered your budget?

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

- In my 17 years of experience one thing I notice with new businesses many will not have a lot of start up capital or have allowed enough budget for logo and branding in the beginning, they will look for the cheapest way to get this done or will bring along a cheap logo and ask for miracles, most often regretting the limitations that poor design and lack of development time bring in the long term. My advice - get it right in the beginning, invest in getting a great logo design and clear strong branding that will work and flow through everything you do, this will save money long term as the design time decreases as time goes on as it's clear and organised. Cut corners on other things along the way but don't underestimate the importance of getting this step right for your business.  - Come with a clear idea on what you like - research other designs and websites that have functionality and styling that appeals to you. Be open to brain storm and develop your ideas so that you benefit from our experience and get the opportunity to achieve a greater result when we put our heads together. Don't limit your ideas too much if you are in the early stages of building a business, we would love to help! This also can reduce concept time if we can build a clear brief together. Our aim is to work along side and to facilitate and develop your ideas to suit you and help make your business thrive!
