There are very strict guidelines for celebrabts including perfromance reviews and annual professional development requirements.  More importantly I take pride im every wedding I celebrate and always seek feedback from those couples I marry.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always loved ritual and ceremony and after a long period on the waiting list was apponted in 2009 and have loved every moment of my celebrancy. It is the ultimate community service!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

The most memorable weddings I have performed have been some of my ex-students whom i can invariablt embarrass by recally some  of their school day antics.  It is important that there are light moments in a ceremony.

Being part of a couple's life at such a special time. It still gives me goosebumps when I fornally declare the couple married.

Will my wedding have your full attention?  Will we connect and enjoy our time together?

Will our wedding be special to you and receive your undivided attention?  Do we feel comfortable with the celebrant?  Do we share a sense of humour and is he or she willing to listen to our ideas about the ceremony?

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I can be relied upon to give you my full attention and will leave no stone unturned to make eveything as perfect as it could be on the day.  I refuse to celebrate more than a one marriage on the same weekend for that reason.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Celebrancy is not a job for me.  It is a wonderful hobby and I am selective about who I marry and avoid taking on too many weddings at the one time so as to give couples my undivided attention.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Personal circumstances as well as location and timing of the wedding.  If the wedding involves sky diving out of  a plane or riding elephants my fee would be higher!

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Accepted Answer

Legally you will need to show me either yout birth certificate or a passport.  If you have been previously married you will need your decree of dissolution.  I will send you a checklist for you to complete before our first interview.

Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?

I am willing to discount my fee given the couple's special circumstances. For those couples who are struggling financially and who desire a simple no frills wedding, the celebrant fee should be discounted.

What makes your pricing competitive?

My fee is around the same as an impersonal ceremony at the Registry Office.  Your ceremony will be unique and reflect your personalities, attitiudes and values.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the time I have to spend. Most weddings involve around 12 hours work and I normally charge $35 per hour.  However I do reduce my fee for couples given their particular circunstances.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialize in weddings and am willing to bhe a funeral celebrant if I know the deceased personally

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?

Accepted Answer

I taught for 45 years and have excellent communication skills.  I have performed in countless concerts and enjoy public speaking and ceremony.
