Many but the one that comes to mind is how I helped a growing SaaS company within the commercial laundry space.  They approached me with the daunting task of stopping paid advertising entirely and solely focusing on SEO. After over 2 years with the customer, I have been able to double their total site traffic and generate at least 4 legitimate leads every week, purely from SEO.

"Here are my problems and objectives, tell me your process to get me to where I need/want to be".  I have found that this is, surprisingly, the biggest area of disconnect between a customer and contractor.

"How can I achieve a result without increasing spend?" - The answer to this almost always to look at it not from absolute cost but how to maximise and reduce cost per result. Most contractors think that all customers want is to keep costs down but what they want really is to generate results at an acceptable cost per result. The question above is more of a misunderstanding that needs to be clarified to the customer.  "I am seeing results thanks to your services but how can I see them more frequently?" - I have seen this especially with customers who have been with me for a few months and my response is to usually use the power of reporting to show how the results are tracking on a period to period basis - usually quarterly.

1) Communicate your objectives and manage your expectations  2) Scope out the engagement with clear expectations in terms of delivery - how many hours, how many results, what timeline, etc  3) Provide updates on what's working/new developments on your end. Marketing activities can generate leads but it's on your end that we'll know if it is working. Communicating the success of the results is crucial to making the most of marketing efforts.

It depends on project scope and requirements. We are very flexible - if you want a one-off engagement or a recurring model, we can work accordingly.  We even provide audit services so if you are happy with our audit and recommendations, we can proceed with a more long-term engagement of implementation and optimisation.
