How did you decide to get into your line of work?

When I was 15 years old all I wanted to do was get a job & go to work, I saw a painter painting a post in a shopping centre & thought that would be easy. I could have never been more wrong in my life. I ended up getting a job as a painter & 41 years later still going strong.

a couple of interstate jobs have come in, the jobs were here but the people were interstate, everything is handled over the phone it is a bit unnerving because you are not sure if you are going to get paid or not. but we have finished them they have them inspected & we pass with flying colours & get paid. I met a guy on a plane recently, we got talking about what we did for a living, we exchanged cards as he knew someone who had a bad painter experience. we did the job totally transformed the look of the place from very old fashioned to a very modern look.once again all very happy.

What do you like most about your job?

The satisfaction that you get once a job is completed, to see some jobs go from a wreck to a really nice end product is a great feeling. & the fact that we move around a lot from one job to another & we meet some very interesting people.each job is unique & its also good to go back to a job that you may have done years ago.it is a good feeling that we have clients that call us back & also refer us to others that is how we survive.

When can you do it & I answer as soon as it is booked in we can arrange a time that suits both parties, things change very quick in this industry, you may be slow at one week & the next you are booked out for weeks or months  ahead

we take a lot of pride in our work & keeping the client happy is  always our objective. I consider it to be a great honour to be in the position of having a free rein on a persons house & I all ways remind my employees treat this job as it is your own house. we more often than not do more for the client than what we have quoted for, we are quick clean & paint to a very high standard & we care. the preparation that we put in is far more than some of our competitors & that's why we are a little bit more expensive, but we all ways deliver a good end result without the headaches & problems a bad painter can cause.

Can you afford to PAY Me. Time line on this project, it needs to fit with both of us & sometimes we are just too busy & can not do it all, & the scope of work being very clear on the requirements & time lines

Don't have champagne taste on a beer budget Be realistic in what you want to achieve & also the amount you want to spend 7 the time in which to do the job Also Listen to advise given by the Painter, it could save you a Lot.

I have no formal qualifications, I started in the day when you started as an improver & learnt as you went along & over the years I have learnt to paint to a high standard, Plaster up cracks, flush gyprock, airless spray painting, wall papering, decorative finishes, roof restoration. Its not the piece of paper that makes a good tradesman its the attitude.
