I have never had a client who was disappointed with the outcome. On the contrary, all my clients have praised the work they have received. I back my process and can guarantee you too will be happy with the results.  No, I am not insured.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

How long will the project take to complete? Time frames generally vary depending on deliverables and my current workload. If artwork is required urgently we can discuss to see if it is possible to meet the deadline.  What exactly do I get during a project? After I’ve asked questions, done my research, and drafted a design brief, clients play an important role in deciding what direction the project will take. I’ll come up with a variety of appropriate ideas, they’ll be narrowed down to the strongest possible options, before ultimately I prepare and send a PDF presentation showing the best designs. Feedback is taken on board, revisions are made, and when everyone’s excited at the result, artwork is supplied in suitable formats.  You’re in a different state from me. Will this affect things? I have many clients that are interstate and overseas. As much as I enjoy meeting face-to-face, I’ve found that talking on the phone, through video calls, and communicating by email can save everyone a lot of time that would otherwise be spent travelling.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I consider myself very lucky. I do what I love and love what I do. When you do something that you love, that you are passionate about, you achieve great satisfaction from producing great work. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.

I take the time to listen to my clients and understand their requirements for each project. Communication is extremely important in delivering the right results. I combine the knowledge of the end goal with a brand focused solution to achieve a successful outcome for you or your business.  I’m hired to give businesses a distinctive, enduring visual appearance — one that differentiates from the competition and brings clients closer to their goals. 20 years experience in the design profession (15 dealing specifically in brand identity design) helps me to increase client profits through better attraction and retention of their ideal customers.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

This is a great question. Many briefs include what they want i.e. a flyer. But a great brief outlines why they want what they want. What are the goals? Who is the target audience? What do you want them to do when they see the design? Who are your competitors? What differentiates you from them? Why do you do what you do and why should your audience believe in you? These are all brand related questions and important for every project if it is to succeed.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Design isn't a commodity.  A commodity is anything for which there is demand, but which is supplied without qualitative differentiation across a market. In other words, copper is copper. Rice is rice. Stereos, on the other hand, have many levels of quality. And, the better a stereo is, the more it will cost.  Clients work with me because of the return on investment they receive. My goal with every project is the success of the client. Therefore, I don't compete on price. I compete on quality.

How do you normally charge for your service?

With all projects I ask for a 50 percent downpayment by bank transfer before scheduling the work. The remaining 50 percent is paid on completion and just before I send original artwork. For larger projects payment terms will be outlined in the initial proposal.
