    A 4 hour job was extended and dragged to a 8 hour job. 3 solid furniture, one sofa just three screws removed into 3 main parts, and 2 tables just 4 screws removed. You would expect Removalist to have done the simple job like tables in 5 mins using their machine screws/allen key fitting. These guys were sitting and manually doing things(video for proof). They didn’t even have the tools to disassemble things and asked me for tools. After this, in the end of the job Thor boss, Anthony spoke to me, initially rough and then like a gentleman and agreed their worker’s took longer than required and agreed to settle for 7 hours pay. And the next day, I am being sent a bill for 400$ They do not pick up the call to help your customers, and their removalist who was driving the truck slammed my door and left when they couldn’t fool us or extort money, and revved the truck out of my house to show he is angry!! I had to continue taking the video to have proof in case he damaged the property! I did not raise a complain yet about the damages because I had to assemble all the furniture their Removalist did NOT assemble. Their Removalist told the job did not include assembly and disassembly when their receptionist Annie confirm to me that they will disassemble and assemble! They are using people in need, sending inexperienced people out to showcase that they are working only in the end to charge unfair prices for extended hours. Edit: I have tried to call them over and over again with no response, just reminders over message. When there is no channel you have open to have a conversation. As a business, you have not provided the right invoice. If google reviews is the only way to get a response from this business, I don’t know what kind of customers you are targeting.

    Dear Mano Chitra, We are sorry that you felt distressed following your move. Moving can be stressful, and we regret that the experience did not feel satisfactory to you. Due to the seriousness of the allegations raised, we conducted a thorough internal investigation, including booking records, invoices, call logs, job notes, photographs, and payment history. The following clarifications are provided for accuracy and transparency. 1. Tools provided to movers All our trucks are equipped with standard professional tools used daily for dismantling and assembling household and office furniture, including spanners, Allen keys, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and battery-operated drivers. Movers may ask customers for tools only where furniture uses non-standard or manufacturer-specific fittings, which are typically supplied by the manufacturer. This is done to avoid delays and help progress the move. 2. Job duration and the 4-hour estimate A 4-hour estimate applies only under ideal conditions: direct truck access, no stairs, minimal walking distance, no dismantling/assembly, standard lift access, and excluding travel time. It does not include dismantling or reassembly, stair use, extended walking distance, lift limitations, or travel time. In your case, all of these factors applied. Larger items required stair handling, the walking distance exceeded 50–100 metres, and travel time between locations was approximately 30–40 minutes (GPS estimate). Fully loaded trucks also operate slower than standard GPS estimates. 3. Stairs and walking distance charges These charges were clearly disclosed in the initial quote, booking discussions, and the invoice issued when the deposit was paid. During discussions, Anthony advised that the matter would be reviewed the next day and a final invoice issued based on verified job data. Our investigation confirmed these charges were disclosed. All stair and walking-distance charges are passed in full to the movers, and we do not apply separate heavy-item charges. 4. Post-job discussion and payment After completion, concerns were raised regarding time and charges. No agreement was made to waive access charges, and verification was advised. The payment made on the day included a reduction in hours, exclusion of stair and walking-distance charges, an additional half-hour deduction for alleged damage, and a further short payment of $141.50 beyond what was discussed. 5. Damage concerns Damage concerns were raised later that night. Anthony advised that the appropriate process was to submit a complaint for inspection and rectification. This was declined, and a discount was requested instead. Photos provided (including the shoe rack) showed a loosened screw rather than damage. The movers assigned are skilled cabinet makers capable of rectifying minor issues. You initially requested $50 for damages (in lieu of the half-hour deduction), later increased to $100, and then deducted a higher amount during payment. 6. Invoice issued the next day After reviewing job data, access conditions, discussions, and amounts paid, an invoice was issued reflecting unpaid stair charges, unpaid walking-distance charges, and the underpayment shortfall. This was issued in accordance with verified records and contractual terms. 7. Clarification on time taken Anthony did not agree that the movers intentionally delayed the job. He advised that the team was trained, monitored, and that time taken aligned with site conditions. A four-hour expectation does not account for dismantling, stairs, lift limits, walking distance, or travel time. Closing We stand by the professionalism of our team and the accuracy of our billing.     I am not happy with the service or quality of work from Onyx Removals. Firstly they cancelled our original booking and rescheduled it, with only a days notice. Which highly inconvenienced my family and I. Come moving day booking was 8am -10am, they arrive at 830am and didn’t even start untill around 9am. They stood talking on their phones most of the time. AND they came in a truck that was too small for the move, which we had originally discussed with them in detail a week earlier about needing a bigger truck . So they had to do two trips instead of the planned 1 trip. Which took alot longer than it should’ve. They stood around talking in a different language most of the day, instead of actually working . I did most of the moving myself. Their moving trolley had 2 flat tyres so they had to use mine, lucky i even had one or it would’ve been easily a 2 day move - they were so slow. Then they dismantled my desk without asking my permission- I walked in the room to see them doing it and then they stopped half way through because “it was too hard” and just left it half dismantled. It buckled under the pressure without the required supports in place, I have pictured evidence and they claim it had nothing to do with them. They also took a lot of paint off the walls and left dents also. They admitted to making the dents yet there’s been no compensation or even an apology to go with that admittance. Spoke to their manager who was extremely abusive and plain rude. He yelled at me over the phone the entire time. Just truly terrible people to deal with. The whole experience has been a horrible , painful, extremely stressful time from start to finish for my family and I. They advertise a smooth moving experience. Nothing about hiring them was smooth. It was horrendous, no remorse, no compassion, very unprofessional and extremely disrespectful. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY - STAY AWAY, FAR FAR AWAY !! If you value your time, your possessions , your money and your sanity - DO NOT HIRE THESE IDIOTS !! Worst company ever !!!! Update : The response below is absolute garbage. They don’t care. They don’t answer phone calls or respond to emails. I’m currently in the process of legal action. These people need to be stopped. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE !! They are extremely slow and lazy, they ruin your property and deny it even with photo, video proof as well as 3 people standing watching them do the damage. Absolute disgrace of a company. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE !!
