How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I love to draw and come up with unique ideas and so it was a natural step to work as a illustrator/graphic designer, I feel it is one of my strengths and passion, I enjoy working on different projects.

What do you like most about your job?

I love to meet new people and learn about their businesses, help them brand their new business or come up with unique concepts and also be part of a new adventure!

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

If you are wanting a logo design, for example, the customer should ask if it will be a unique design, not ripped off from clip art. You need to know that your designer can draw you a unique concept.  Also you need to know if the designer includes printing costs in their quote.

What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?

I take pride in my work and won't stop till I am happy with the end result.  I believe word of mouth is very important and so to give a bad service would be seriously harmful to my business.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I listen to the customer and make sure the service I give meets high standards and the finished results are exactly what the customer wants, not stopping until I have reached this result and the customer is happy.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

A detailed brief of exactly what the customers want, plus a deadline to work to.  Sometimes a customer can give examples of other designs they like showing style and finished results, this gives me a clear Idea of what they are expecting for the end result.

1. Outline the brief giving as much information as possible. 2. Set a deadline for me to work to. 3. keep all communications open for a quick turn around with any questions I may have about the project.

What makes your pricing competitive?

Accepted Answer

I try to be as competitive as possible if a customer has a budget I try to work to that budget. I keep the customer informed with how much time the project is taking so they don't go over budget. If the customer is giving me future work I reduce my hourly rate.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I charge on a hourly rate usually but if it is a large job I can quote on that particular piece.

I love illustration and design, but coming up with logo concepts would probably be my most enjoyable as I love to work with people and make their ideas into a real concept.

I have worked in the design industry for over 15 years and have a wide range of experience from Project management to illustrating children's books.  I have worked with a team and alone.
