Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

I am fully insured and will not charge a client if they are not satisfied with the training methods that I recommend. The Client has to commit to get fitter too!

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

Fitness has always been my passion. I was working in another unrelated industry but eventually transferred into the fitness industry as I wanted to follow a career I was passionate about.

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

I have many. Usually around people who have not been particularly sporty but changing as they get and fell fitter. I remember two clients who trained together...I encouraged them to run a 5k Fun Run. They said "no way", "only if you run it with us wearing a wedding dress...!"  I did, and they did it!

What do you like most about your job?

Accepted Answer

I like helping people, seeing the feel better about themselves. Seeing their self esteem improve and confidence take them where they thought they could never go. This might mean seeing a client enter into a fun run event, for example.

They should seek references or testimonials and make sure they can get on with the service professional. Listen to their "gut feeling"! Don't worry too much about the price!

Customers tend to have been recommended to see me so they know what I do. They seek confirmation of costs and availability. I tell them up front how much and what I can do to help.

I am well know in the local community having done fund raising for local schools and I am a suppotrter of Austism Australia. I organised the National Indoor Rowing Championships in 2013. See my web site please!

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

I have run my own fitness training business for nearly ten years. My "niche" is Indoor Rowing. Any one, almost any size and age can start their fitness journey by rowing! I have qualifications as a Certified Personal Trainer; Children's Trainer and Indoor Rowing Instructor. I also run Train the Trainer Courses for Fitness professionals seeking qualification as an Indoor Rowing Instructor. The course I deliver is worth 12 CECs, you will understand that if you are a fitness professional.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

I need to know that the customer can travel to me in Woonona and they have no health issues that their Doctor would prevent them from taking part in physical training.

1. Do their research. 2. Check and verify the credentials of the trainer and years of experience. Insured? Registered? 3. Meet with the person and make sure the chemistry is right!

I do not have any special offers other than I will commit to helping any client. My pricing is fair, a "win,win" and my service is excellent. My ongoing support to clients is free if they wish to email or seek advice on the 'phone regarding nutrition or physical training. I am there for them.

What makes your pricing competitive?

My pricing is competitive because I have no overheads. I work from home and can put all my energy in satisfying the client, not worrying about the dollar. My strategy is to focus on the client.

How do you normally charge for your service?

I invoice people individually, usually at the end of the month. Some people see me for a one off evaluation of their rowing technique and may choose to pay me at the time of their visit. I email invoices o receipts I do not have contracts and after nearly ten years of operating I have a system that works.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I specialise in the use of Indoor rowing machines...I coach and train people in the sport. I have coached National Champions. Rowing is my passion. Rowing is non-impact and risk of injury is minimal.
