Stratos Legal is fully licensed by Lexon, the compulsory Queensland Law Society insurer. Most of our work is litigious by nature, so we can't guarantee the outcome. We can promise to bring all of our experience and knowledge to bear on your situation.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people and I was interested in knowing how the institutions we take for granted functioned- government, courts, etc.

Bankruptcy events can be particularly stressful. I always like it when you see the client a little further down the line and they are looking like a new person.

You should ask enough questions to be comfortable with the answers that you are getting. If you don't understand the advice then it is not worth getting.

Clients commonly ask us to predict what will happen. I always say if I had a crystal ball I would be winning lotto every week. The best that can be done is to make a prediction of what will happen based on an understanding of the facts and experience.

Because we only work in the areas that we are experienced in we can ensure that the service is reliable. Professional users of the legal system such as financiers and liquidators trust us with their affairs.

If we have a chronology and an initial consultation over the phone with the client we are experienced enough to be able to quote early.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Prepare a brief chronology of events- no more than 2 pages. This saves a lot of time. 2. Put your documents in chronological order and name them properly.  3. List the names ,addresses, phone and email of the main players separately.

Our experience in our chosen fields of expertise mean that we get down to the nitty gritty of a matter quickly and cost effectively. Because we do so much of this work we can do it more efficiently.

Our preference is to agree to a fixed fee upfront where ever possible. For debt recovery work the fees are often recoverable in full from the other side.

Restructuring, insolvency,bankruptcy, business debt recovery, shareholder agreements and disputes, business lending. Our clients are often liquidators, bankruptcy trustees, financiers and company directors.

Bruce Pasetti is a workshop leader for the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association, the course that all liquidators take. He is vastly experienced.
