I am insured and have public and liability insurance.  I guarantee my work by ensuring you are 100% happy with how you look before I leave or you leave my studio.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I have always had an interest in makeup.  When going out with my friends I was always asked by them to do their makeup .  I am so lucky to have found a career I am so passionate about!  In 1992 I completed my diploma in makeup artistry and have never looked back.  I love what I do and I love seeing my clients happy and filled with confidence.  I have now achieved many dreams including doing makeup for celebrities, top models and working within the television industry reality shows and local news.

What do you like most about your job?

I love what I do!  It is my passion.  I love seeing the end result once makeup is complete and hair.  The look of my clients faces when i have made them up is priceless.  I love being able to bring out their inner beauty through makeup because nothing makes you feel more beautiful than believing you are beautiful.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Always ask lots of questions and follow your instinct. Ask about their training and qualifications.  Check they have insurance and have an ABN.   The QUALITY of makeup artists varies greatly – so this will be reflected in their pricing. You have people who are just beginning, more experienced artists, and the people who are the very best in the industry, who will obviously charge at a higher rate. Basically, you get what you pay for. For example: ﻿Graduate artists: **$60-$75pp - this is a base rate, and anything cheaper than this is seriously undercutting and potentially causing damage to the entire industry; if your makeup artist is charging below this amount I would be asking some questions as to what products they are using?  Are they qualified? Do they follow strict hygiene guidelines etc. Do they have insurance? ​Experienced artists: **$80-$95pp- these artists usually have a minimum of 3 years in the industry, should be covered for public liability, have some experience working with different skin types, colours and age groups.​ ﻿Well sought after industry professionals: **$100-$300+pp – and in some cases upward of $1000pp for some celebrity artists.- these artists have 10+ years’ experience (mostly 15 or more), run a business, have an ABN, have public liability, offer contracts, have a lot of experience working with different skin types, colours and age groups, practice safe hygiene, know their products 100%, have fabulous testimonials, work regularly on photoshoots, get most of their work by word of mouth.

My testamonials and input i get from all my clients tell me I am one of the most reliable and trustworthy artists within the industry.  I always turn up for my jobs and all the work you see on my website and facebook etc are done by me.  I also ensure i have back up artists who do similar work to me to assist  on large jobs.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

My work and experience speaks for itself.  Should you choose me over someone else?  That is entirely up to the individual. Why?  Because makeup is a personal thing and my style and personality may not be suited for everyone.  That's why trials are so important for weddings.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

To ensure i can quote you correctly i need to know: How many for each service ie how many required for makeup, hairstyling, nails.  Plus ages of people requiring the service.  For a wedding, i charge less for flowergirls and junior bridesmaids.  Also for hair services i need to know the length of the hair.

I specialise in weddings and darker skins.  I have worked within the wedding industry for over 20 years. I know how your makeup will last and most importantly have you look amazing for your treasured photos.   I have also worked with many skin types and colours.  Over the years i have learnt and discovered through trial and error what looks great on darker skins.  I find not many makeup artists understand darker skins and make them look too ashy.
