I only charge for the time on the job, no rounding of a six hour job, to make up an 8 hour day. If I quote, then the price is adhered to, so no surprises for the customer.

A call fee + an hourly rate, which is fare to customer and the tradesman. Some customers require an indicative quotation, which is gladly provided.
