Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

We are fully covered for Public Liability Insurance, workers compensation and also Personal insurances. Our workmanship comes with a life time guarantee (if its not been altered by anybody else of course).  If we are providing the materials they come with a 5 year warranty, as they all come from reputable wholesalers there is never any problems swapping faulty materials over.

Meeting and interacting with customers, job satisfaction after a customer is thrilled with their new lights, and knowing we have left a job in great Electrical condition.

What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?

Accepted Answer

- If an Electrician can offer an Energy Safety Certificate. If they can't it is classed as unlicensed work and is illegal for them to carry out.  - If they have the appropriate Public Liability Insurance.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

- Do I really need an RCD? Yes - if you are selling or renting by law you have to have 2 RCD's. Also all light and power circuits must be RCD protected when worked on.  - Can you not just give me a quote over the phone? Well yes I could but if I get to the location and further electrical work is needed - such as the fitting of an RCD - it means the quote I gave you over the phone will start increasing. If I give you a free onsite quote however you can be assured the price I give you won't change.

We are a small business who is not all about the money. If we see something wrong (faulty wiring, no RCD's) we will inform customers so they can make informed choices. At BRT Electrical Services we want what is best for the customer so we also provide in depth consultations and honest communication at all times.

At BRT Electrical Services we strive to keep our customers happy at all times and keep the budget as low as possible without hindering our quality of work. All BRT jobs are started by an onsite visit to get a good idea of the job and the existing installation, from then we can give the customer an accurate quote that will not change.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

We insist on a site visit and then quote on site. Without looking at the existing installation it is impossible to give an accurate quote.  Once the quote is given there will then be no alteration in price.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1.If the customer has a good idea of what exactly needs doing before hand an even a detailed drawing will  help. 2.If we are working in an area where there is furniture in the way a customer can save money and make it easier by moving it before we arrive. 3.Usually it is better for me to arrange all the materials for the customer as I can get them cheaper and of a better quality, and then there is also no problems with cheap dodgy materials.

We have year round specials like; 1.LED down lights fully installed from $99 each 2.Ceiling fans fully installed from $250 each 3.Extra power points from $120 each 4.RCD's installed for only $150 each We also off great safety specials.  We offer an Installation check package which includes;  1.Checking trip times of RCD'S  2.Check functions of smoke alarms 3.Check the general condition of the existing wiring 4.If you have down lights installed we will check to make sure they have the appropriate fire rated caps installed. All of this peace of mind for only $150. All prices exclude GST.

At BRT because we take the time to look at the job first and do relevant tests on the switchboard before we start we can give an accurate quote on the spot and there will be no nasty extras when it comes to the final bill. We also only use high quality materials so they will stand the test of time.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

Because we offer onsite quotes free of charge we can then give you a complete price for the job, instead of offering an hourly rate which it can then spiral out of control and you cant budget for that. If we do not finish the job in the time that we have allowed for in our quote we will not charge you any extra so you cant rest assured that the price we give will stay the same.   We are equipped with EFTPOS machines so payment is simple.

We cover anything from a small domestic installation to a medium commercial installation.  We specialize in lighting installations, with our good contacts and extensive experience in the field we can deliver a service most others cannot.
