Frequently Asked Questions
Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
We are a superior service. Highly organised, highly skilled and easy to deal with does not mean highly priced! We are the real deal!
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
Painters Contractors License No 169637c, WorkCover White card, EWP license to operate scissor and boom lifts, MPA members, HIA members.
Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?
We cover all aspects of the trade from commercial building sites to interior repaints of small units, we keep a wining edge over the competition by combining our experience to suit each and every different project to keep the cost down and the quality up!
How do you normally charge for your service?
Lump sum quotations for the entire project is the way we charge. We only provide an hourly rate for touch ups and only in certain cases. Each project carries different challenges and circumstances and this is factored in to our assessment of cost using years of real experience across 1000s of jobs.
What makes your pricing competitive?
The fact that we are well experienced helps keep costs down in the sense that we provide a market value which is very near or bang on where it should be and where we believe it will end up should clients attempt to hire less experienced and competent tradies on a per hour without the headache!
Are there any special offers you would like to offer to Oneflare customers?
20% cheaper quotes on vacant properties. If the job is straight forward and does not carry many challenges and obstacles even before we pick up a brush then we are happy to pass on the savings!
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
A good tip for customers is to clear the area as much as possible even before calling painters out to quote. A painting job involves much more then the actual labour of painting and this is where a lot of people go wrong. Time is $, obstacles and challenges of any sort cost clients $ also.
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Surface area, obstacles, ease of access, other challenges that may slow down the works, current condition of paint work, choice of colours and finish, client expectation.
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
Absolutely! We are a PTY LTD company and carry all the legal requirements. There is a lot more pressure on us to do the right thing as there is on sole traders. With us you get professional service with no headaches from start to finish.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
A clean police record and 20 years trading without a single complaint with the Office of Fair Trading. There are a lot of wolves in sheep's clothing going around in the painting industry. It is not worth saving a few 100s only to find out the hard way!
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
Customers often ask questions about colours and we are only to happy to assist. We have years and years of experience knowing what goes with what and a very good sense of key factors such as light, furnishings, carpet, carpentry etc. We are never had a client who was not pleased with our suggestions
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
Customers know pretty quickly wether they are dealing with a professional tradesmen and service provider or a desperate pretender. Having said that some pretenders are quiet convincing! Check credentials such as trades license, insurances, references and feedback.
What do you like most about your job?
There is no better feeling than a task or project which has been well executed from beginning to end. Customer satisfaction feeds confidence and has a lasting effect. Running a painting business if done properly can be very rewarding.
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
There is no one favourite customer story which comes to mind, every customers satisfaction is important and you are only as good as your last job every quality tradesmen will tell you that. It is very important to keep up your standard especially in such a competitive industry.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
After finishing high school like a lot of folks I ended up working in the corporate world for several years before I realised I found the work very uninspiring. A family friend was running a very successful painting business at the time and I've never looked back!
