How did you decide to get into your line of work?

We set up WEBinate Web Design Studio so that we could work for ourselves, on projects we wanted to do, and for customers we wanted to work with. Why web design? Simple - it's fun, there's lots of demand for our services, and we can work anywhere there's wireless broadband - even while we're away enjoying the Great Australian Outdoors. Can't beat that!

Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?

One of our customers called us, very excited, about a year after their website went live. They explained that until the website went up, they had never been approached by overseas customers. However, in the first years, their turnover had increased by 40%, all due to new business from overseas. Who says Australians can't compete?

What do you like most about your job?

At WEBinate, all we do is design and build great websites. It's a good thing then that this is also what we're most passionate about, and it's what we love to do. Because we create our own designs, every website we produce is different, so every day is different. We also like that as freelancers, we get to pick our clients and the projects we undertake, so we never have to do work we would rather avoid - we're just lucky I guess.

The first question we're asked by potential clients is how much we charge to design and build a website. Our answer is always the same - we can deliver a website for anywhere from $300 to $30,000+. It all depends on what you want. Once we know what you want, we'll provide you with a formal written proposal including our fees.
