i am  fully insured for public liability up to $10 million. I am a licensed electrical contractor. Contractor number EC8892. My labour is guaranteed for a total of 3 years.

Western Suburbs Electrical is my own business, built from scratch and has grown purely on the basis of reputation. The aspects that I enjoy the most are meeting a variety of people everyday, providing a good service and exceeding people's expectations.

When hiring an electrician the first thing a customer should check is if they are a licensed electrical contractor (legally permitted to perform your electrical work). The customer then needs to know if the electrician has public liability insurance.

Western Suburbs Electrical prides itself on reputation. We rely on people's good opinion of us for future work. You can guarantee that I am reliable, and if I am running late or can't make it (as can sometimes happen in this business) I will give you plenty of notice.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

Because I answer the telephone-not the receptionist or a call centre. Everytime you call 0438803446 it will be a qualified electrician that answers. If I do not answer immediately, leave a message and I will promptly return the call and discuss your electrical requirements.

Before providing a quote we like to know:- 1) What are your requirements. 2) How quickly do you need the job done. 3) Do you have a budget in mind? 4) Are you serious about getting the work done or just shopping for prices (either us fine by me!)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

Before you call an electrician for loss of power: 1) Check that the whole of the street has not lost power and it is a Western Power problem. 2) Check that your RCD has not tripped. 3) Do not try and rectify any electrical faults yourself. Electricity can be lethal.

Western Suburbs Electrical has very competitive pricing. Firstly, we do not charge a call out rate for business within core hours. Secondly, we offer free quotes. Western Suburbs Electrical also offers pensioner discounts and rewards for repeat and regular clients.

How do you normally charge for your service?

The majority of my work is charged on an hourly rate basis. We do not charge call out fees for our customers. We also provide Free quotes. If the job is large I always recommend a quote so that the customer knows in advance how much their electrical work is going to cost and there are no hidden extras at the end.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I don't really specialise in any area or electrical work as I can put my hand to most things. I do particularly enjoy doing re-wires and renovation work though. I think it's because the end result is very visual.

I have been a qualified electrician for almost 30 years. I have extensive experience in domestic electrical work and commercial electrical work. I have also worked for Western Power as a linesman and later as a project manager.
