What do you like most about your job?

My job involves so many different aspects it is hard to pick. I would have to say the carpentry component as you are there at the start right thru to the finish. You get to see strange things like the way some things were done 100 years ago.

Always the customer askes you to put an approximate price on the job. Every job is different as is every price. They ask me where I believe my price will be? Answer if they get 3-4 price I will be one of the 2 in the middle.

I have been in this business a long time and it is the most important thing that people feel safe letting you into the home. That is why I always introduce my workers to the client before they start. Most of my workers have been with me long enough for me to be able to assess there trustworthiness.

Azonic Building & Renovations is a small home bases business will low over heads. I supervise & run the jobs myself, no supervisors or administration staff costs to be built into cost of the job. as it is home based not overheads with buildings etc.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

If it is a quote from plans, copy of plans, engineering report, soil test report. If it is a bathroom renovations, what they want in there bath, shower, toilet, bida etc. If it is a kitchen renovation-, what type of doors, vinyl rap, two pack, laminex. Bench tops- stone, laminex, roll top. If it is a room or house renovations- type of ideas they want for the room, type of finishes they want, timber plaster or metal etc.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

If renovation for bathroom or kitchen remove all items from room to allow easy access. Prepare clear access to work area eg hallway clear of furniture. Clear an area outside near work to allow for storage of materials

Azonic Building & Renovation is competitive with in the market operating in Victoria for 15 years. All of our clients come back for more work which implies to me that are pricing is competitive as well as of a high standard.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Azonic Building &Renovations most of the time gives people a fixed price, which is fixed if I make a mistake in my quote I still complete the job for that price I quoted. If there is to be a variation it is discussed with the clients before it is done.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

I am able to do all areas of the building industry but I enjoy the most, building renovations, especially bathroom & kitchen renovations from small to large. My moto is, you name it we will do it if it can be done.

I am indentured in bricklaying & carpentry. I have three quarters of a diploma in architecture. I have worked in the building industry for 38 years. I have operated as a builder for the 30years mostly in Tasmania for 20 years, 10 years in Victoria.
