Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

We have 10million in public liability and can also offer Home Warranty Insurance on those larger jobs as we are registered builders. All our work is guaranteed for minimum 2 years, up to 10 on structural works and some painting works can be guaranteed for 10years.

What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?

Q.What is the extent of damage? (rot, water, etc) A. A examination of the area is required, including the need to cut holes in ceilings, etc. Q. Do I need plans and permits. A. This will depend on the job. Plans are needed for larger jobs (usually over $10,000.00) and help in reducing the cost of the works. Permits are only required for structural change or exterior works. Q. Can you carry out all the works including electrical and plastering? A. yes, we use qualified and skilled trades for all tasks.

We have lots of testimonials for our past work from happy customers. We are a small company and live and die on ensuring all our customers get what they paid for. Being a registered builder, we cannot afford to be in dispute with a customer as we can face the wrath of the building commission as well as VCAT.

What they would like to achieve, including the opinions of their partner! Time frames of work, expected costs (they may have a limited budget, this is aok but they need to have recognise what compromises they can accept)

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Any photos from magazines, books, etc are helpful of what you a trying to achieve, say a feature wall. 2. Measurements of area, including a brief description of what you want. 3. Written material list of what you want ie: Dulux Hogsbristle exterior semi-gloss paint, chrome trims to tiles, etc etc.

We would like to offer a 5% discount to our customers if they accept the quote within 5 working days of the quote being issued. This helps us with tracking and booking of quotes in a timely manner which means we can offer this discount.

Discussions with client will often result in us able to issue detailed quotes, which results in accurate description of works and what client wants to achieve. This will always result a competitive price from us as there is little guess work required from the trades to achieve a quality job on time.

How do you normally charge for your service?

We offer quotes. But some jobs are too small and often it is cheaper for customer to be offered an hourly rate, with them paying for materials with no markup, just paying for the actual time is takes to do the work.

Is there a particular aspect of your trade or industry that you specialise in?

We specialize in small renovations, including odd works such as weatherboard repairs, general timber repairs to windows, fascias, doors, etc. We think small jobs are just as important as large ones.

We have over 30 tears experience in the building industry from commercial to domestic construction.  Completed apprenticeship in 1984 in Carpentry and Joinery. Have worked as supervisor, assessor, issuing quotes for works. Achieved registration as a Domestic Builder.
