We have had Lawrence do a few jobs for us and highly recommend his professionalism and workmanship. We have been very happy with any other sub-contractors he has needed to use. It is so wonderful to see a person taking so much pride in the quality of their work.

What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I have been in the building industry for 21 years and started at the tender age of 16 in this time I have gained valuable skills and knowledge of the industry, I am a qualified builder and carpenter

I like a variety of work in general but I like to specialise in the areas of fencing, decking, retaining walls
All of these aspects are second nature to me and with the experience I have no job is too difficult

I am very competitive on my pricing as I don't charge a markup on my materials I find just charging my labour is a good way to always stay busy and not pricing myself out of the market

My tips for customers would be make sure you know what's involved in the process of building approvals second tip would be choose cost effective materials and thirdly don't use anyone too cheap that will always end up in disaster for the client
What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?
Things I would need to know before a quote would be accurate information such as the size of the job any plans they have or need, materials type and specific requirements they have for the job sometimes a budget can help because most people don't realise the cost of materials
What questions do customers commonly ask and how would you answer them?
Most common question is how much do I think it will cost, that has to be the number one question of all time, my response is always the same and it is I will get back to you as soon as I know.
How did you decide to get into your line of work?
I decided from the age of 16 I liked working with my hands and making things so it was a great decision for me to learn a trade at a young age
Do you have a favourite customer story you would like to share?
Probably my favourite customer story was when I project managed a full transportable house build using mostly volunteers it was a interesting process and was a lot of fun and at the end of the build the house was given away to a homeless family :)
