How did you decide to get into your line of work?
My grandfather was a builder - my father was a builder - I am a builder !
I have worked in construction from a young age I have owned my own construction company in Australia since 1995.
What do you like most about your job?
Building is always interesting - every job is different and every clients needs are different.
The core thing for me is that at the end of every day I see something progressing towards completion and the work gives me great pride.
What questions should a customer ask to hire the right service professional?
Firstly find out if they talk about the pride in their work and the quality of their work. You will have to live with the finished job so make sure your decision criteria is not just based upon cost.
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy person for the job?
I live locally and I intend to stay living locally - which is why my company is called "Ask A Local".
My customers are people I am always happy to say hello to and if there is ever a query with anything we have done I am always available to come and sort it out.
How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips
Know what you really want - don't change your mind half way through - it will almost always cost money.
Understand the quality of end product you want
Be clear where the work begins and ends so that everyone quotes on the same work

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?
Our focus is on the clients real needs - sometimes that means increasing the job spec and sometimes that means reducing it to fit the clients budget. We are friendly, flexible and knowledgeable.
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right person for the job?
I have been involved in construction all my life - I have over 30 years experience.
I have immense personal pride in making sure the work is done correctly and to a quality that I would be happy with if it was my home.
