Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?

Accepted Answer

We are fully insured with Public Liability  to $10 million and contract works insurance to guarantee us in the event of flood. fire or other unknown events. We had 3 job sites flooded in Brisbane 2011 and were fully insured for all damage caused by this event.

How did you decide to get into your line of work?

I had always enjoyed building things, and problem solving. Being a Builder seemed like a natural progression as I had a talent for seeing the end product and the steps involved in reaching that milestone.

I was once asked to install a hidden door in a Wardrobe to connect two rooms, part of the scope was a installing a biometric lock so only the 8 year old daughter could have access. Lots of fun.

Do you have any client recommendations? There are lots of questions you can ask, but a recommendation is a great way to qualify any prospective professionals.

How much is it going to cost? Ha ha, all the time, after hearing an account of what is planned. The only way to accurately price the work is to have accurate drawings, specifications of materials and schedules. Our advice! Budget for accurate pre-construction documentation and planning = Less Risk

Sometimes it is hard to articulate why you are the best person, most reliable or trustworthy when your response could be seen as biased. So I would direct any prospective clients to our group of previous clients and referee's and let them make up their own mind.

Why should a customer hire you over another service provider?

We will help you from the beginning to end of your construction project. Everything from coming up with the design to putting the finishing touches on your build is attended to by a member of our staff. We look forward to helping you as the best builders Brisbane has to offer.

What are the typical things that you need to know before you can provide a quote to a customer?

Accepted Answer

We need to know what the scope of works is for the customers project. This normally is a combination of 1st draft drawings or concept ideas, material choices, style of home or building, all the 'must haves' in the building e.g. glass splash backs, polished floorboards, outdoor living area, swimming pool. Finalization of job costs is not complete until we have full working drawings and accurate schedules with specifications attached.

How can a customer save money before you start the work? Please give 3 tips

1. Understand pricing bands - everyone has a budget but not all items are available in our budgets. Use the internet for some quick price comparisons on fixtures and fittings for your new home, before you choose a builder. 2. Educate yourself on the build process - the more informed you are, the better chance you will have of knowing what skills you can bring to the process. 3. Plan to expand - if you cannot afford the full renovation or extension now, look at planning an extension later on. It will save you interest payments on a large loan and make the whole build less stressful.

We are very thorough in our pricing of bespoke designs and renovations. This provides assurances to our clients we know what we are doing and reduces the risk of variations during construction.

How do you normally charge for your service?

Accepted Answer

All pre-construction tasks (Town Planning, Concept drawings, Working drawings, Specifications, Engineering, Building Approvals etc) are quoted on based on the proposed works.   We price all building work based on plans and specifications provided by our clients or by us.  And when the project is ready to be built we normally sign a contract with a 5% deposit and all works are then paid for based on our jointly agreed progress payments schedule.
