  (Name removed) started a job in November that was supposed to take 2 weeks and still to this point has not finished the job. I have paid the deposit he asked, over 12k for and a secondary payment because he says he needed it to order the bluestone and decking but nothing has happened. He will not respond to my calls and keep pushing to say he will start soon but nothing has happened in over 3 months. Based on the other review this is not the first time it has happened. Do not hire him! I will be holding legal action and contacting consumer affairs.

  YOU WILL REGRET HIRING Mark for ANY JOB !!!! If there would have been a negative Star rating then I would have given him minus Infinity in ratings. We hired him in the month of October ( 1st week ) to do the complete landscaping which involved Decking, Fake Grass Installation and Concreting the back and front areas. As per his first ( of many false ) promises , the work was supposed to be completed in 7-10 days. We understand there can be certain limitations but if a 7-10 days job cannot be completed even after 2.5 months, then it is not a limitation it is intentional. He took 50% as deposit and even after that every time he comes in, he asks for more money and gives a false promise that the job will be completed next week or so. After some time when I started to ask him questions, he said when you give me a call to ask when the labor will be coming for work then you are wasting my time and money. Labor will be there don't worry, your work will be done. After waiting for 2.5 months and giving him more than 10K the work is still not complete. Finally we have to send him a message that we don't want to get any work done from him because whatever work small amount of work has been done is illegal. His labor / team ( or I would say only one person ) built the decking on the footpath. Also the garden beds are not in a straight line. Later on , he tore off the quotation paper that he has written himself. He does not even honor the quotation that he wrote. He will be good to you till the time you give him the deposit money. His highly professional labor also damaged the decking of our neighbors and didn't even fix that. I would not say Think twice or thrice before hiring him. Don't even think think about hiring. He has very good convincing skills to get money from you. There is one thing he is good at. He at least responds to your messages or calls. That is it. Don't expect the work to complete.

  Hired Mark for a series of jobs. It was originally for painting but I extended it to landscaping, painting and some odd jobs including some carpentry work. Mark is very professional and a good and fluid communicator. His quotes are detailed, which is a testament to his dedication to getting the job done in accordance with the wishes of both parties. The job was completed on time and very satisfactorily.

  Do not hire these guys - they took a large 50% deposit, and then ruined our garden taking out plants rather than weeds, and never actually started the job of landscaping and paving - we have tried to get our deposit back and now will go to VCAT. If in doubt google the main guy. They don’t even warrant one star
